Approximately sixty home groups have sprung from these churches.
The persecution of believers in Nepal is quite intense. Yet even still, the church is growing like wildfire. Awaken International partners with local and foreign church planters to help start and sustain churches in this vital area.
Nepal is a landlocked country in southeast Asia, mainly within the Himalayan mountains. The capital city is Katmandu, and the official language is Nepali. It has a population of twenty-eight million.
Only one percent of these twenty-eight million are Christian. For this reason and others, we see lots of persecution in this area. We hear countless stories of miracles in the midst of persecution from our church planters on a regular basis. God is moving in Nepal, and we want to be part of it!
